"The paintings of Creixams are exhibited alongside those of André Derain, Pablo Picasso, Maurice de Vlaminck , Henri Matisse and Amedeo Modigliani "
This beautiful Spanish woman is an illustration of the admiration that Creixams has for his friend Modigliani, one of the major representatives of the Paris School. He is inspired here as to the laying of the model. The plane is closer, which will become a recurring mark of Creixams portraits. The manner remains more classic than his production of the time inspired by his friend. It seems that Creixams has made the portrait of a close relative draped in the finery of his native country. Perhaps that of Marie Lebourg, called "Madelaine" that he married in 1919. Which would explain that unlike the young milk girl below, the young woman with the Madonna pose modestly covers her chest with a veil cloth
Creixams exhibits in 1921 at the Parnasse café (Les Cent du Parnasse exhibits at the café) and during the exhibition of the nude at the Montaigne Gallery in Paris. His portraits of women are marked by the style of the illustrious representative of the School of Paris, Amedeo Modigliani.
Florent Fels presents it to the famous Parisian art dealer Paul Guillaume installed 39, rue La Boétie. He offered to sign a contract to commit to deliver his entire artistic production from November 1921 to June 1922. The paintings of Creixams are exhibited alongside those of André Derain, Pablo Picasso, Maurice de Vlaminck , Henri Matisse and Amedeo Modigliani
