Henri Boccara was born in Tunisia in 1910. He studied at the Beaux-Arts in Tunis. He stayed in Montparnasse and traveled to Italy. In 1937, he settled in Marseille. He died in Marseille in 1992.

He is a solid landscape painter from Provence and painter of still lifes.

He belongs to this generation which reviews tradition with the eyes of Fauvism  or expressionism  well tempered, without this tradition never being denied.

It is also easily molded into the Cézanian touch to describe roofs on the seabed.

An important painter in Provence at this time.
