This painting is a major work of this painter whose universal recognition remains to be done. Fernande Horovitz-Edwards is one of those painters born with Impressionism. Auguste Renoir is very present in this post-impressionist work, but it is part of the neo-realist current of the inter-war period. These greens and blues would not spoil a work of Charles Dufresne. Woman herself, Horovitz-Edwards paints women, and symbolism is often present in her works. This atmosphere of serenity, these affectionate maternities are a counterpart to the terrible period lived by the West, its resentments, its fears and its indelible consequences. An illustration of more than in the work of Fernande Horovitz-Edwards the woman is resolutely the future of the Man.
