André Morisset (1876–1954) was a French painter active in the first half of the 20th century, associated with an aesthetic blending late naturalism, landscape symbolism, and post-impressionist influences. He is recognized by collectors for his well-structured career and substantial body of work.
Morisset belonged to the generation of artists who, from an early age, witnessed the rise of Impressionism, Pointillism, and a luminous symbolism. His work demonstrates a keen attention to light, brushstroke rhythm, and atmospheric effects—hallmarks of several artistic movements active around 1900.
André Morisset exhibited at two major institutions in the Parisian art world:
the Salon des Artistes Français, an important venue for academic recognition,
and the Salon des Indépendants, a hub of modernity and avant-garde experimentation.
This dual presence highlights an artist capable of navigating between official circles and more experimental milieus, positioning his artistic sensibility at a fruitful crossroads between tradition and modernity.
